Our office makes a point of staying up-do-date and knowledgeable about the various insurance options. Your range of benefits depends solely upon which insurance company your employer has chosen for you. Some plans cover as little as 30% of your dental services, while others may cover as much as 100%. But in most cases dental insurance will cover between 40-80% of your dental care.
The majority of dental insurance plans also have a yearly maximum of coverage. We are committed to helping you pre-determine and maximize your insurance benefits, in order to give you the most accurate estimate of your insurance coverage as well as the best available dental care.
When you receive dental treatment your claims will be electronically transmitted before the end of that treatment day.
On the day of your appointment we ask that you pay your portion of the estimated co-payment. Please understand that both your co-payment and your insurance portion are simply estimates, based upon the information provided to us by you and your insurance company at the time of service.
Once your insurance carrier has paid their portion of your claim, any difference in the balance of your co-payment will be due upon receipt of your billing statement.
If for some reason, your insurance company postpones payment for more than 90 days, we ask that you pay our office the remaining balance. At that time we will work together with you to help you receive the insurance reimbursement that your insurance company is obligated to pay. After the 90 day grace period, any remaining balance is subject to a 12% APR interest rate.
Many insurance plans base the amount of benefit coverage on a schedule developed by their own insurance company.
For example, if your insurance plan states that they will pay 80% of the cost of a specific treatment, it means that the plan will pay 80% of a set fee predetermined by the insurance company and not the actual fee charged by our office.
For this reason, you may receive a lower percentage of reimbursement by your insurance company toward your total dental treatment, than is indicated on your dental insurance plan.
Because of this, whenever possible we will preauthorize your treatment to give you an estimated total balance due.
